This story was set in Philly's Temple section of the city in involving college kids... Shakeem, Corin & Travis. Shakeem was one who was focused on every aspect of his life, the only time he lost focused was when it came to Corin....Now she was a true snake. First, let me say that the author did a fabulous job on crafting a tale with a great story-line and believable characters in just a short space of time! Second, while I thoroughly enjoyed the story, the numerous typos and formatting issues was a little distracting. A few times I found myself wanting to stop reading but the fact that it was a short story, and a good one at that, kept me clicking through to the end. Perhaps, next time, a little more attention to detail will be paid. Also, I felt that the author was a little gratuitous in her use of profanity. I understand that some people feel it's necessary to use it to make their stories more authentic. But sometimes less really is more. It was for those two reasons that I gave the book a 4-rating instead of a five. But if I were judging solely on story-line, hands-down, no doubt, a solid 5!
Take a walk with Shakeem as he learns all money ain't good money. This is a great story that tells of a young college star and his girlfriend and what will be done for the almighty dollar. This story will leave you wondering who can you trust.
WOW, Corin, Corin, Corin, really. Why when the obvious is in your face it just can,t be seem for some people. Shakeem needs to get a grip....Travis Mr. Lifesaver did his best to intervene. Careers are on the line, how would these guys get spared the wrath of Mr. Evil (oops Price)...lol good read.
This was not your average short story.it kept me surprised from the beginning to the end. I bought this book because of Wasiim Young. He wrote Hush 3'' I was surprised @ what goes on in college basketball.who would have thought that folks bet on games like that..who would have thought that a woman scorned would never get over it.
Author Tammy Capri has wow'ed me yet again! Hush Money Shakeem's Story pulled me in from the very beginning, and I read it like a thirsty man at a waterhole in the desert! I could actually see this becoming a full length novel. The end was a knee-jerker; I won't spoil it, but I sure didn't see that coming! Great job Tammy!
Fast paced quick read... no lie I think I read the book in thirty minutes.. at the end I thought it had to be a part 2.. shakeem and corin relationship was up and down through out college, but eventually made it work his senior year. Or so it seems.... Unfortunately when a woman is scorned.... shyt happens!!! Good job Tammy Capri, Quiana and Wasiim!!!! Waiting on part 2.
I enjoyed this short story. It captured my attention from the gate, and held it to the very end. The characters were believable, and the plot was well thought out. I'm glad I befriended the author on Facebook and have become a huge fan of her work. If I had any complaints, there were a few editing issues in the beginning of the book, but minor ones. Cop this if you enjoy drama. Great job Ms. Capri, and the other authors too.
